Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
Orange Sauce
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp sriracha
Thickening Slurry
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
Garnish
- Sesame seeds
- Green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Cook the chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the cubed chicken breast. Cook the chicken until it is browned on all sides and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Prepare and add the orange sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, and sriracha until well combined. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet over the cooked chicken.
- Thicken the sauce: In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir the slurry into the skillet and let the sauce simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently, until it thickens and coats the chicken evenly, about 3-5 minutes.
- Garnish and serve: Remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish the spicy orange chicken with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot, ideally with steamed rice or your choice of side.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, adjust the amount of sriracha to taste.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce to control salt levels.
- Chicken thighs can be used instead of breast for a juicier texture.
- Garnishing with additional fresh veggies like bell peppers or snap peas can add color and nutrition.
- Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
