Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 2 chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp pineapple juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
For the Sandwich:
- 2 burger buns
- 2 pineapple rings (grilled)
- 2 slices cheese (optional)
- Lettuce leaves
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise or sauce of choice
Instructions
- Marinate Chicken: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, pineapple juice, and minced garlic. Add the chicken breasts and coat them thoroughly. Let the chicken marinate for 15 to 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Grill Chicken: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated chicken breasts for about 6-7 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the chicken is fully cooked and juicy.
- Grill Pineapple: Place pineapple rings on the grill and cook until lightly caramelized, about 2-3 minutes per side, creating a sweet and smoky flavor.
- Toast Buns: Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster for a few minutes until golden and slightly crispy.
- Assemble Sandwiches: Spread mayonnaise or the sauce of your choice on the buns. Layer the grilled chicken breast, caramelized pineapple ring, a slice of cheese if using, and fresh lettuce. Top with the bun’s other half.
- Serve: Serve the sandwiches immediately to enjoy the warm, juicy chicken and caramelized pineapple together for that tropical burst of flavor.
Notes
- Add chili sauce for a spicy twist to the sandwich.
- Use brioche buns for extra richness and a buttery texture.
