Ingredients
Chicken
- 2 chicken breasts
Sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts evenly with salt and pepper on both sides to enhance their flavor before cooking.
- Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the chicken breasts in the pan and cook until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 6–7 minutes per side depending on thickness. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic: In the same pan, add the minced garlic and sauté briefly for about 30 seconds to release its aroma without burning.
- Prepare Sauce: Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar or lemon juice to the pan. Simmer the mixture, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly, about 2–3 minutes.
- Coat Chicken: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the pan. Spoon and coat them thoroughly with the honey garlic sauce.
- Final Cook: Cook the chicken in the sauce for an additional 2–3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to cling to the chicken.
- Serve: Serve the chicken warm, optionally garnished with sesame seeds or chopped green onions, and accompanied by rice or vegetables.
Notes
- Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions for added texture and flavor.
- Ideal served alongside steamed rice or sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.
- Ensure not to overcook chicken breasts to maintain their juiciness.
