A rich and flavorful Creamy Lemon Chicken featuring pan-seared chicken breasts coated in a luscious lemon-garlic cream sauce enhanced with Parmesan cheese.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Sauce

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cream
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Sear the chicken: Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then sear each side until golden brown and cooked through, about 6–7 minutes per side. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.
  2. Prepare the sauce: In the same pan, add the minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in the cream, then add the lemon juice and zest. Stir to combine.
  3. Simmer the sauce: Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, allowing it to thicken slightly over 5–7 minutes. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  4. Coat the chicken: Return the seared chicken breasts to the pan, spooning the creamy lemon sauce over them. Let everything cook together for an additional 2–3 minutes to meld the flavors before serving.

Notes

  • For a lighter option, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Add fresh herbs like thyme or parsley for extra flavor.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or over pasta or rice to complement the creamy sauce.
  • Make sure not to overcook the chicken to keep it juicy.
