Deliciously sweet and chewy coconut bars topped with gooey chocolate chips, perfect for a tasty treat or dessert.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 16 bars

Ingredients

Base

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Filling & Topping

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until evenly coated. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish to form an even layer.
  2. Add toppings: Pour the entire can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crumb base. Next, sprinkle the shredded coconut across the top, followed by an even distribution of chocolate chips.
  3. Bake the bars: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the chocolate chips have slightly melted and the mixture is set.
  4. Cool and serve: Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the dish. Once cooled, cut into 16 squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use sweetened shredded coconut for best results, unsweetened will alter the taste.
  • You can substitute chocolate chips with white chocolate or butterscotch chips for variety.
  • Ensure the bars cool completely before cutting to achieve clean slices.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
