Ingredients
Donuts
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Glaze
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a donut pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract into the dry ingredients. Mix just until the batter is smooth and free of lumps, being careful not to overmix.
- Fill Donut Pan: Spoon or pipe the batter evenly into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about three-quarters full for proper rising.
- Bake: Place the donut pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10–12 minutes until the donuts are set and spring back lightly when touched.
- Prepare Chocolate Glaze: While the donuts bake, melt the chocolate chips with butter and milk in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, stirring frequently until smooth and glossy.
- Glaze Donuts: Once the donuts are completely cool, dip the top of each donut into the warm chocolate glaze, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Set and Serve: Place the glazed donuts on a rack or parchment paper and allow the chocolate to set before serving.
Notes
- Add sprinkles or chopped nuts on top of the chocolate glaze for decoration and extra texture.
- Use dark, semi-sweet, or milk chocolate chips depending on your taste preference.
- These donuts are best eaten fresh to enjoy their moist texture and glossy glaze at their peak.
