Ingredients
Oatmeal Base
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups milk or water
- Pinch of salt
Fruit & Flavorings
- 1 apple, diced
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, add the rolled oats, diced apple, milk or water, maple syrup, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
- Cook the Oatmeal: Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats have absorbed the liquid and the texture is creamy and soft.
- Serve: Once cooked, remove from heat and serve the oatmeal warm. You can optionally top with extra diced apples or chopped nuts for added texture and flavor.
Notes
- Add raisins during cooking to enhance sweetness naturally.
- This recipe works wonderfully for overnight oats; simply combine ingredients and refrigerate overnight.
