Ingredients
Donut Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For Coating
- ¼ cup melted butter
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well to distribute the leavening evenly.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir everything together until a soft dough forms, ensuring it’s well combined but not overworked.
- Shape the Donuts: Lightly flour your working surface and roll out the dough to about ½ inch thickness. Use a donut cutter or two round cutters to cut the dough into donut shapes.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and allow it to preheat for a few minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Cook Donuts: Arrange the donuts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not touch or overcrowd. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes until the donuts turn golden brown and puffed.
- Coat Donuts: As soon as the donuts come out, brush them with melted butter. Then, toss or sprinkle them with the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat thoroughly while warm.
- Serve Warm: Enjoy the donuts fresh and warm for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Use biscuit dough for a shortcut version if you prefer.
- Instead of cinnamon sugar, you can add a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk for a different coating.
- These donuts are best enjoyed fresh on the day they are made for optimal softness and flavor.
