A quick and creamy pasta dish featuring tender chicken breasts and fresh broccoli florets tossed in a rich, homemade Alfredo sauce made with butter, garlic, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. This 30-minute Italian-American meal is perfect for busy weeknights when you want a satisfying, comforting dinner.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Pasta and Vegetables

  • 300g pasta (fettuccine or penne)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets

Chicken

  • 2 chicken breasts (sliced)

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta and Broccoli: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions. About 3 minutes before the pasta is done, add the broccoli florets to the boiling water to cook until tender. Drain both together and set aside.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add sliced chicken breasts and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove chicken from pan and set aside.
  3. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer gently for 3-4 minutes to thicken slightly.
  4. Add the Cheese: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until completely melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Combine Everything: Return the cooked chicken, pasta, and broccoli back into the pan with the Alfredo sauce. Toss everything together gently to coat evenly with the sauce. Heat through for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately, optionally garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Add extra Parmesan cheese if you prefer a thicker, richer sauce.
  • You can substitute heavy cream with milk for a lighter Alfredo sauce, though it will be less rich and creamy.
