Ingredients
Chickpeas
- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
Seasoning & Oil
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp chili powder
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to get it ready for roasting.
- Dry Chickpeas: Pat the rinsed chickpeas completely dry using a kitchen towel to help them crisp up in the oven.
- Season Chickpeas: Spread the dried chickpeas evenly on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat them well.
- Add Spices: Sprinkle smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper evenly over the chickpeas. Mix well to ensure every chickpea is coated with the seasoning.
- Roast: Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast the chickpeas for 25 to 30 minutes. Shake or stir the pan halfway through cooking to ensure even roasting.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the chickpeas cool slightly so they become even crispier before enjoying.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, roast the chickpeas plain for 10 minutes first, then add oil and spices before roasting the remaining time.
- Store leftovers in an open container at room temperature to maintain their crispness, consuming within 2 days.
- Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to control the heat level according to your preference.
