Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
Sauce
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp sriracha
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
Garnish
- Sesame seeds
- Green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Cube the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces to ensure even cooking and quicker absorption of the sauce.
- Cook the chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the cubed chicken until it is browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, honey, and sriracha until combined to create the sweet and spicy orange glaze.
- Add the sauce to the chicken: Pour the prepared orange sauce mixture into the skillet with the cooked chicken and stir to coat all pieces evenly.
- Prepare the slurry: In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water until smooth.
- Thicken the sauce: Stir the cornstarch slurry into the skillet and simmer the mixture for 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and glaze the chicken beautifully.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions over the chicken. Serve hot alongside steamed rice or your preferred side.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, increase cornstarch to 1.5 tablespoons.
- Adjust sriracha to your preferred spice level.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce for a lower sodium option.
- Chicken thighs can be substituted for a juicier texture.
- Serve with steamed rice, noodles, or vegetables for a complete meal.
