Ingredients
Chex Cereal – 6 cups (or 4 cups Chex and 2 cups Cinnamon Toast Crunch)
White Chocolate Chips – 12 oz
Ground Cinnamon – 3 teaspoons (divided)
Powdered Sugar – 1 cup
Instructions
Prepare Cereal:
Pour the Chex cereal into a medium-sized bowl.
Melt White Chocolate:
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 25-second increments at 50% power, stirring well in between. Once most of the chocolate is melted, keep stirring until it is fully melted to avoid overheating. Stir in 1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon into the melted white chocolate.
Coat the Cereal:
Pour the melted white chocolate mixture over the cereal. Stir gently to coat the cereal evenly.
Toss with Powdered Sugar:
In a gallon-sized plastic bag, combine the powdered sugar and the remaining 1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon. Transfer the coated cereal mixture into the bag and toss until it is evenly coated.
Cool and Serve:
Transfer the coated cereal back to a bowl and allow it to cool for about 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
Do Not Overheat the White Chocolate: When melting the white chocolate, heat it in short intervals and stir to avoid overheating. If the chocolate is overheated, it can become thick and seize, making it unworkable. You can also use a double boiler method for safer melting.
Storing: Snickerdoodle Puppy Chow can last for 1-2 weeks if stored in an airtight container at room temperature. It’s a great snack for on-the-go or as a homemade gift!
Coating Tips: Ensure the cereal is well-coated with the white chocolate mixture so that the powdered sugar can stick evenly.
