Ingredients
For the Brownie Base:
1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Caramel Swirl:
1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Sea salt flakes (for sprinkling)
For Garnish (Optional):
Vanilla ice cream for serving
Additional caramel sauce for drizzling
Chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Make the Brownie Batter: In a microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop, melt the butter until fully melted. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Prepare the Pan: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.
Add the Caramel Swirl: Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the brownie batter. Use a knife to gently swirl the caramel into the brownie batter.
Sprinkle Sea Salt: Sprinkle sea salt flakes over the top of the batter for that sweet-salty contrast.
Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, extra caramel drizzle, or nuts if desired.
Notes
To ensure perfect brownies, allow them to cool completely before cutting for clean and even squares.
Feel free to add chocolate chips or chopped nuts into the brownie batter for extra texture.
For an extra indulgent touch, drizzle more caramel sauce on top right before serving.
