A quick and wholesome applesauce made effortlessly in the Instant Pot—naturally sweetened, tender, and perfect for snacks, baking, or breakfast.

  • Total Time: approx. 20 minutes†
  • Yield: about 8 half‑cup servings

Ingredients

6 medium apples (about 1.5 lb / 700 g), peeled, cored, and roughly chopped

1/4 cup water or apple juice

2 tablespoons sugar or honey (optional, adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Add chopped apples, water (or juice), sugar (or honey), cinnamon, and a pinch of salt into the Instant Pot.

Secure the lid and set the valve to sealing. Select “Manual” or “Pressure Cook” on high for 5 minutes.

Once complete, allow natural pressure release for 5 minutes, then carefully quick‑release any remaining pressure.

Open the lid and mash the apples with a potato masher for chunky applesauce, or blend with an immersion blender for a smooth consistency.

Taste and adjust sweetness or cinnamon if desired.

Transfer the applesauce into a jar or airtight container. Let cool slightly before refrigerating—it thickens as it chills.
