Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 6 cups beef broth
- 2 cups frozen potstickers
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the Oil: Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat to prepare for sautéing the aromatics and beef.
- Cook Ground Beef: Add 1 pound of ground beef to the pot. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
- Sauté Aromatics: Stir in 3 minced garlic cloves and 1 tablespoon grated ginger. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
- Add Broth and Soy Sauce: Pour in 6 cups of beef broth and 2 tablespoons soy sauce. Bring the mixture to a boil to build the flavorful soup base.
- Cook Potstickers and Mushrooms: Add 2 cups frozen potstickers and 1 cup sliced mushrooms to the boiling broth. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until potstickers are heated through and mushrooms are tender.
- Add Spinach and Chili Flakes: Stir in 1 cup baby spinach and 1 teaspoon chili flakes if using. Let the soup simmer for an additional 2 minutes until the spinach wilts.
- Serve: Ladle the hot soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or tofu for a different protein option.
- Add cooked noodles to the soup if you want a heartier meal.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce the salt content if desired.
