Ingredients
Chicken and Sauce
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 package (1 oz) Italian dressing mix
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
Pasta
- 12 oz angel hair pasta, cooked according to package instructions
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Place the chicken breasts, cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, and Italian dressing mix into the slow cooker. Spread ingredients evenly to ensure balanced flavor throughout the dish.
- Cook Chicken: Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours or on High for 3 to 4 hours until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Add Cream Cheese: Once cooking is complete, stir in the softened cream cheese directly into the slow cooker until the sauce is smooth and creamy, creating a luscious mushroom cream sauce.
- Prepare Pasta: While the sauce finishes, cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well.
- Serve: Plate the cooked angel hair pasta and spoon the creamy chicken and mushroom sauce over the top. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, remove the chicken after cooking, shred it, then return it to the slow cooker and stir in the cream cheese.
- Adding sautéed mushrooms or onions before slow cooking can deepen the mushroom flavor.
- Use low-sodium chicken broth to control salt levels.
- Leftovers keep well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently to avoid separating the sauce.
