Ingredients
1 package (14 oz) graham crackers
2 cups cold milk
1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
8 oz whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)
1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
2 cups chopped apples (about 2 medium apples)
Instructions
Prepare the Pudding Mixture:
In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until thickened, about 2 minutes.
Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully combined.
Assemble the Layers:
In an oblong dish, layer graham crackers on the bottom. Spread half of the pudding mixture over the crackers.
Sprinkle half of the chopped apples over the pudding layer.
Repeat Layers:
Repeat the layers of graham crackers, pudding mixture, and chopped apples until you reach near the top of your dish; finish with a layer of pudding.
Add the Caramel:
Drizzle caramel sauce generously over the top layer.
Chill:
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
Make-Ahead: This cake needs to be refrigerated for a few hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the graham crackers to soften.
Apple Variations: Use your favorite apple variety for a different flavor, such as Granny Smith for a tart bite or Fuji for extra sweetness.
Caramel Sauce: Store-bought caramel sauce works great, but homemade caramel will add an extra touch of richness.
