Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 can white beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Toppings
- Paprika
- Fresh parsley
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Drain and rinse the white beans thoroughly to remove excess sodium and liquid. Peel the garlic clove and measure out tahini, lemon juice, and olive oil.
- Blend Base: In a food processor or high-powered blender, combine the white beans, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Pulse until the mixture starts to come together.
- Incorporate Olive Oil: While the food processor is running, slowly stream in the olive oil to help create a smooth and creamy texture. Continue blending until the hummus is completely smooth.
- Taste and Adjust: Pause to taste the hummus. Adjust salt, pepper, or lemon juice if necessary to suit your flavor preference.
- Serve: Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle a little extra olive oil over the top and sprinkle with paprika and fresh parsley if desired. Serve with pita bread, chips, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
- Store the hummus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Serve with pita chips, crackers, sliced vegetables, or use as a sandwich spread.
- For a smoother texture, peel the skins off the white beans before blending.
- You can substitute white beans with cannellini or navy beans for similar results.
