Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 block feta cheese (about 7 ounces)
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons chopped dates
- 2 tablespoons chopped hazelnuts (toasted if desired)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
For Serving
- Crackers, baguette slices, or veggies
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the feta cheese.
- Prepare the Feta: Place the block of feta cheese in a small baking dish, then drizzle it evenly with olive oil to add flavor and moisture.
- Bake the Feta: Bake the feta in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until it is softened but not melted completely, allowing it to become creamy.
- Add Toppings: Remove the baked feta from the oven and evenly sprinkle the chopped dates, toasted hazelnuts, and dried herbs (thyme or rosemary) over the top. Drizzle honey over all the toppings.
- Finish Baking: Return the baking dish to the oven for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. This lets the flavors meld and the honey warm slightly.
- Serve: Serve the warm baked feta dip immediately alongside crackers, baguette slices, or fresh veggies for dipping and spreading.
Notes
- Add a pinch of chili flakes to the topping for a sweet and spicy flavor twist.
- You can substitute walnuts or pistachios if hazelnuts are not available or to vary the nutty flavor.
