Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Beef and Onions: In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onions are soft. Drain any excess grease to reduce fat content.
- Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add Broth and Boil: Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a rolling boil on high heat.
- Cook Macaroni: Stir in the elbow macaroni and let it cook uncovered until tender, about 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Add Dairy and Condiments: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the milk, heavy cream, ketchup, and mustard until well combined and heated through.
- Melt the Cheese: Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese has fully melted and the soup is smooth and creamy.
- Season and Serve: Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve the soup warm for a comforting meal.
Notes
- Add diced pickles for a fun burger-style twist.
