Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken, diced
- 2 cups broccoli florets, steamed
- 1 cup cream of chicken soup
- ½ cup milk
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it is hot enough for baking the casserole evenly.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Mix Chicken and Broccoli: Add the diced cooked chicken and steamed broccoli florets to the sauce mixture. Gently fold them in so that the chicken and broccoli are well coated.
- Assemble the Casserole: Pour the mixture into a baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top to create a cheesy crust.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese on top is melted and slightly golden.
Notes
- Add cooked rice to the casserole before baking to make the dish more hearty and filling.
- For a homemade touch, use a white sauce (béchamel) instead of canned cream of chicken soup to control ingredients and flavor.
